2 Women, 8 Men Try For Shower Record
| |
HOEVELHOF, Germany -- Ten Germans are attempting to soap themselves down for 101 hours in the hope of breaking the record for the world's longest shower. The 2 women and 8 men, aged between 18 and 22, from Hoevelhof in western Germany, began their attempt on Wednesday and will try to remain under the constant stream of water until Sunday.
Each participant is allowed a 10 minute break every hour for food, drink and toilet trips and to rub in more cream to protect their skin from the water. A doctor is also on hand to make sure the lack of sleep does not adversely affect their health.

"The atmosphere is excellent," said spokesman Patrick Foerster, from the Victoria Hotel in Hoevelhof where the attempt is being made. The person who manages to stay in the shower for longest will win $2,000 (£1,300) prize money and be put forward for entry into the Guinness Book of Records, according to Germany's Express newspaper.
